Overview
The Data Manager will play a central role in supporting Zambart’s TB Reach Wave 11 Plus project in Ndola. Stationed at the Mapalo community hub, this position ensures the effective management, monitoring, and evaluation of health data collected from multiple facilities. The role requires a detail oriented professional who can maintain robust data systems, safeguard data quality, and provide timely insights that inform public health policy and practice. By turning complex datasets into actionable evidence, the Data Manager will directly contribute to improving TB screening, diagnosis, and reporting in Zambia.

Main Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, and secure data infrastructure including hardware, software, and connectivity.
• Monitor the progress and quality of data collection in collaboration with study staff.
• Perform data cleaning, corrections, and reconciliation of health facility records with district M&E teams.
• Compile and analyse routine healthcare data, ensuring accuracy across TB notifications, lab registers, and treatment records.
• Prepare and contribute the data component of quarterly reports for funders, including uploading datasets into DHIS2.
• Provide daily feedback to the study team in Ndola and weekly updates to management in Lusaka.
• Support continuous improvement of monitoring and evaluation processes to strengthen data reliability.

Required Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in data management and monitoring & evaluation, with expertise in relational databases and mobile data collection tools.
• Proficiency in SQL and ability to critically assess data quality.
• Experience working with health systems data and patient records.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and reporting skills.
• Desirable: Master’s degree in Computer Science, experience in public health research, familiarity with DHIS2, Stata or R, and programming of data collection tools.
