Overview
The Coordinator – Talent Acquisition and Management will provide strategic leadership in sourcing, attracting, and retaining critical talent for Lumwana Mining Company. Reporting to the Superintendent – Talent Acquisition & Management, this role is central to building sustainable workforce pipelines, strengthening internal mobility, and supporting performance management processes. The position requires a seasoned HR professional who can partner with hiring managers, deliver tailored recruitment solutions, and ensure compliance with labour laws, company policies, and diversity standards, all while fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
Main Responsibilities
• Lead full cycle recruitment for senior, specialist, and business critical roles, ensuring efficient and compliant processes.
• Partner with hiring managers to design recruitment strategies, job profiles, and selection frameworks.
• Proactively source candidates through direct attraction, talent mapping, referrals, and professional networks.
• Conduct advanced screening interviews, manage candidate experience, and oversee onboarding.
• Support performance management, succession planning, and workforce planning initiatives.
• Identify high potential employees and facilitate career progression and internal mobility.
• Maintain accurate records of workforce movements, competency requirements, and performance outcomes.
• Analyse recruitment and workforce data, preparing dashboards and reports on key talent metrics.
• Recommend improvements to recruitment frameworks, HR systems, and policies.
• Collaborate with HR colleagues across sites to ensure consistency in talent practices.
• Drive employer branding and community engagement initiatives to strengthen talent attraction.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Full Grade 12 certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a senior HR talent acquisition role, preferably within the mining industry.
• Proven expertise in recruiting specialist and leadership positions.
• Strong knowledge of performance management, succession planning, and workforce analytics.
• Advanced experience with HRIS platforms and reporting tools.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, ethical HR practices, and diversity and inclusion.
• Solid understanding and ability to interpret Zambian labour laws.
• Certified member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
