Overview
The Senior Specialist – Talent Acquisition and Management will play a key role in driving Lumwana Mining Company’s people strategy by supporting the attraction, recruitment, and retention of critical talent across operations. Reporting to the Coordinator – Talent Acquisition & Management, this position ensures recruitment processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with business priorities, while also supporting performance management, workforce planning, and employee engagement. The role requires a proactive HR professional who can partner with managers, build sustainable talent pipelines, and foster a culture of safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Main Responsibilities
• Manage end to end recruitment processes for operational, technical, and support roles, including job scoping, advertising, screening, interviewing, and selection.
• Partner with hiring managers to define workforce plans and sourcing strategies, ensuring alignment with organisational needs.
• Build and maintain candidate pipelines through local sourcing, community partnerships, and direct attraction initiatives.
• Ensure recruitment activities comply with labour laws, company policies, and diversity and inclusion commitments.
• Support onboarding and induction programs to integrate new employees effectively.
• Contribute to performance management cycles, succession planning, and competency mapping.
• Maintain accurate HRIS records, recruitment data, and prepare dashboards on key talent metrics such as time to hire and turnover.
• Analyse workforce data to identify trends and recommend improvements to HR processes and policies.
• Support employee engagement initiatives, retention strategies, and community recruitment programs.
• Promote organisational values, safety culture, and positive employee relations across departments.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Full Grade 12 certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in recruitment, preferably within mining or heavy industry.
• Proven track record in managing high volume recruitment and talent pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of performance management, succession planning, and workforce planning frameworks.
• Experience with HRIS systems and talent reporting tools.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• High commitment to safety, ethical HR practices, and diversity and inclusion.
• Solid understanding of Zambian labour laws and compliance requirements.
• Certified member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
