Overview
The Superintendent – Talent Acquisition and Management will lead strategic recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning across Lumwana Mining Company. Reporting to the Human Resource Manager, this role is pivotal in ensuring the organisation attracts, develops, and retains a highly skilled workforce aligned with operational needs, safety standards, and long term business goals. The position requires a dynamic HR professional who can build strong partnerships with academic institutions, industry stakeholders, and internal leaders, while fostering a culture of learning, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities
• Design and implement recruitment strategies to source talent across mining operations, technical services, maintenance, processing, and support functions.
• Manage end to end recruitment processes including job scoping, advertising, screening, interviewing, and selection.
• Build partnerships with universities and training institutions to strengthen graduate, internship, and early career talent pipelines.
• Oversee onboarding programs to ensure smooth integration of new employees.
• Lead annual performance management cycles, succession planning, and competency framework development.
• Collaborate with learning and development teams to deliver technical, professional, and leadership training.
• Track employee development plans, training participation, and career progression pathways.
• Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the workforce.
• Support HR systems implementation and talent analytics reporting.
• Provide coaching to hiring managers on interviewing, performance conversations, and development planning.
• Represent the company at career fairs, university engagements, and industry forums.
• Present recruitment metrics and talent dashboards to senior leadership, ensuring compliance with labour laws, company policies, and safety standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills
• Full Grade 12 certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years’ HR experience with significant exposure to talent acquisition and management, ideally within mining or heavy industry.
• Proven success in managing high volume recruitment and talent pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of performance management, succession planning, and competency frameworks.
• Experience with HRIS recruitment systems and talent analytics.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
• Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and ethical HR practices.
• In depth understanding of Zambian labour laws.
• Certified membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
