Overview
The Senior Relationship Manager – Global and Large Corporates will be responsible for managing and growing strategic corporate relationships across the Copperbelt region. This role is central to Zanaco Bank’s Corporate & Investment Banking division, ensuring that large corporate clients receive tailored financial solutions, proactive engagement, and seamless service delivery. The position requires a commercially astute professional with strong credit skills, proven sales performance, and the ability to drive portfolio growth while safeguarding compliance and risk management standards.
Main Responsibilities
• Manage a portfolio of global and large corporate clients, ensuring smooth account operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to expand existing relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Conduct joint client calls with product partners to cross sell trade, treasury, and transaction services, increasing wallet share.
• Prepare and present credit applications, ensuring due diligence and compliance with credit policies.
• Monitor portfolio performance, initiate credit processes, and manage loan facilities within risk parameters.
• Maintain accurate client records, account plans, and communication logs to support effective relationship management.
• Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to inform strategy and product development.
• Lead sub teams, mentor colleagues, and support strategic projects across the division.
• Act as principal point of contact in the absence of the Head – Global Corporates, ensuring continuity of service.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and sustainability frameworks.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• University degree in Business, Banking, Finance, or a related field; professional banking qualifications are an advantage.
• Grade 12 certificate with credits in Mathematics, English, and three additional subjects.
• 5–7 years’ experience in commercial banking, with a focus on managing large corporate portfolios.
• Strong credit analysis skills and evidence of lending experience; certification in commercial credit analysis is an added advantage.
• Proven track record in revenue growth, balance sheet expansion, and cross selling financial products.
• Solid understanding of banking operations, ecosystems, and international best practices.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills with both clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to apply innovative solutions to meet business objectives and resolve complex problems.
• Professional maturity, strong decision making ability, and customer service orientation.
• Fluency in English required; additional languages such as Mandarin, French, Hindi, or Arabic are advantageous.
