Overview
The Regional Auditor (RA) plays a critical role in safeguarding organizational integrity and accountability across diverse country operations. Reporting to the Regional Audit Manager, this position is responsible for leading audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with professional standards and internal policies. The role requires a highly ethical professional with strong analytical skills, capable of advising senior leadership, strengthening internal controls, and supporting risk management frameworks. With significant travel and cross cultural collaboration, the Regional Auditor contributes directly to transparency, governance, and the mission of improving lives in vulnerable communities.

Main Responsibilities
• Lead audit assignments of varying size and complexity, from initial planning to final reporting.
• Apply digital analytics and trend analysis to provide reliable audit evidence and actionable recommendations.
• Evaluate internal controls, risk registers, and enterprise risk frameworks, proposing appropriate audit procedures.
• Engage with senior management to understand operations and ensure efficient execution of audits.
• Prepare timely audit and advisory reports, ensuring deliverables are completed before review deadlines.
• Follow up on implementation of audit findings, ensuring issues are resolved and documented.
• Conduct special reviews and investigations as required, delivering corrective measures to auditees.
• Maintain accurate e audit files and audit histories for projects and grants.
• Pursue continuous professional education (minimum 40 CPE units annually) to remain current with industry practices.
• Collaborate in a geographically dispersed, multicultural team while traveling domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.

Required Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Audit, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional audit certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIA, CISA, or CA.
• Strong knowledge of internal auditing standards, ethics, and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to address complex audit issues independently and advise senior leadership.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
• Proficiency in office applications, audit software, and accounting systems.
• Fluency in English required; Portuguese and French are advantageous.
• Experience working across cultures and within the non profit sector preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new regulations and changing environments.
• Commitment to professional development and maintaining high ethical standards.
