Overview
The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in leading the finance function, ensuring sound financial stewardship, compliance with statutory and donor requirements, and transparent reporting to stakeholders. This position demands a proactive leader with proven expertise in financial management, audit oversight, and budget control, capable of guiding a team in a dynamic, multi stakeholder environment. The role is central to maintaining organizational accountability and enabling informed decision making across the business.

Main Responsibilities
• Deliver timely and accurate financial reports to management and donors, supporting strategic and operational decisions.
• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial close processes, ensuring transactions are complete, accurate, and aligned with budgets.
• Manage internal, IFRS, and donor audits, driving compliance and achieving clean audit outcomes.
• Monitor procurement processes to ensure adherence to organizational policies and regulatory standards.
• Maintain statutory compliance across tax and employment obligations, including PAYE, WHT, NAPSA, NHIMA, and Workers’ Compensation.
• Lead budget planning, expenditure tracking, and revenue reporting, ensuring financial integrity and alignment with approved allocations.
• Supervise asset management, including tagging and record maintenance.
• Provide strong leadership to the finance team, setting clear KPIs, fostering accountability, and encouraging professional growth.
• Conduct site visits and financial spot checks to reinforce adherence to financial procedures and controls.

Required Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; a master’s degree is an advantage.
• Professional accounting certification (ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent) preferred.
• At least 5 years’ experience in financial management, ideally within NGO, conservation, or donor funded projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in audit preparation and management, with strong knowledge of IFRS and donor compliance.
• Advanced skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, with the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Serenic) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Proven leadership capability, with a track record of mentoring and developing high performing teams.
