Overview
The Manager, Tax & Regulatory Reporting is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant tax and regulatory submissions across the organization. This role minimizes risk exposure by overseeing tax computations, prudential returns, and regulatory reporting while providing advisory services to business units and senior management. It requires a detail oriented professional with strong technical expertise, capable of building trusted relationships with regulators and safeguarding the organization against financial and reputational risks.

Main Responsibilities
• Execute tax and regulatory reporting processes to ensure compliance with ZRA, BOZ, SARB, and other regulatory bodies.
• Prepare tax computations, payment schedules, and returns across all tax types for the Bank and its subsidiaries.
• Support the Head of Tax & Regulatory Reporting with submissions and compliance monitoring.
• Review and submit prudential returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Maintain proper records, reconciliations, and audit ready documentation for all tax and regulatory activities.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, providing expert advice to stakeholders and management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators to foster transparency and trust.
• Ensure effective use of tax reporting software and compliance with group reporting frameworks.
• Identify gaps in controls and processes, implement remediation plans, and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide management information and commentary on tax and regulatory compliance risks and performance.

Required Qualifications and Skills
• First Degree in Finance or Accounting; professional qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA required.
• 5–7 years’ experience in tax management and regulatory reporting, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of the finance value chain with specialist expertise in tax and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting systems such as SAP and Finacle.
• Solid knowledge of tax laws, regulatory requirements, and central bank reporting standards.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport across teams and with regulators.
• Demonstrated ability to uphold high ethical standards, accuracy, and accountability.
• Competencies in financial control, continuous process improvement, and tax management.
