Overview
The Coordinator – Warehouse is responsible for leading and optimizing materials management activities within Lumwana Mining Company’s supply chain. Reporting to the Superintendent – Warehouse, this role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant warehouse operations that support production and business needs. The position requires a proactive leader who can balance operational excellence with safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement, while fostering strong partnerships across teams.

Main Responsibilities
• Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, issuing, and dispatch of materials.
• Enforce safety standards and compliance with mine/site rules, ensuring a secure working environment.
• Maintain accurate stock records, oversee inventory movements, and resolve variances, losses, or damages.
• Ensure proper storage practices, warehouse layout optimization, and adherence to specifications and safety requirements.
• Oversee documentation, authorization controls, and ERP system usage to ensure audit readiness and data integrity.
• Lead and train warehouse personnel and contractors, promoting adherence to procedures and continuous improvement initiatives such as lean warehousing and 5S.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and security controls.
• Support inventory optimization, working capital control, and minimize losses from theft, damage, expiry, or obsolescence.
• Uphold environmental, health, and safety standards, ensuring compliance with legal and social responsibilities.

Required Qualifications and Skills
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Supply or CIPS equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mining or other high volume, 24 hour operational industries.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to lead teams.
• Demonstrated planning, analytical, and problem solving abilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management practices.
• Membership with the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
• Commitment to integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement in warehouse operations.
