Overview
The Supervisor – Light Trucks plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of Lumwana Mining Company’s light truck fleet. Reporting to the Coordinator – Light Trucks, this position leads a team of technicians to deliver high quality maintenance and repair services that support production targets and operational priorities. The role requires a results driven leader who values integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement while fostering strong partnerships across teams.

Main Responsibilities
• Oversee daily maintenance activities for the light truck fleet, ensuring tasks are allocated and executed effectively.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance, repairs, and component replacements to minimize downtime.
• Work closely with planners, operations teams, and contractors to maximize fleet availability, reliability, and productivity.
• Manage and prioritize work orders, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with approved procedures and standards.
• Align maintenance schedules with production requirements to support operational efficiency.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance activities, and asset histories.
• Promote a culture of safety by ensuring all activities comply with company standards and legislative requirements.
• Lead and support technical teams, providing guidance and fostering accountability to achieve performance goals.

Required Qualifications and Skills
• Craft Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in heavy earthmoving equipment or light vehicle maintenance.
• Proven experience managing light truck fleets and understanding vehicle systems, diagnostics, and component life cycles.
• Valid Zambian driver’s license.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate and motivate technical teams.
• Familiarity with maintenance planning systems and reliability principles (e.g., SAP, Pronto) and proficiency in Excel.
• Membership with the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
• Commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement.
