Overview
The Brewery Logistics Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing end to end logistics operations across brewery and regional distribution. This role ensures compliance with safety standards, manages fleet and warehousing functions, and drives service excellence through efficient inventory control and cost management. Success in this position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to deliver operational improvements that support customer satisfaction and business growth.
Main Responsibilities
• Uphold and implement company safety standards, conducting audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with legislation and industry best practices.
• Oversee fleet operations, warehousing, and inventory management to maintain product quality and service levels.
• Drive adherence to DPO/VPO frameworks, ensuring standardized processes, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage service level agreements with carriers, sales, and quality teams to optimize throughput and minimize downtime.
• Lead cost management efforts, ensuring strict adherence to flexed budgets and accountability for brewery logistics spend across VLC, ZBB, SCOH, and CAPEX.
• Utilize data analytics to monitor operational efficiency, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align on customer service strategies.
• Provide leadership and coaching to teams, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Recruit, develop, and retain talent while conducting performance reviews and implementing improvement plans where necessary.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Degree in Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in FMCG, distribution, or supply chain planning at a managerial level.
• Strong knowledge of legislative requirements, occupational health and safety, and customer service principles.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, optimize costs, and deliver operational efficiencies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse teams.
• Superior planning, analytical, and numerical skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, adaptability to change, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Credibility within the business and familiarity with local market environments.
