Overview
Standard Chartered is seeking a dedicated Servicing and Transacting Payments Senior Officer to deliver high-quality support and services to enhance customer satisfaction and drive business profitability. This pivotal role involves managing various operational processes, including clearing, loan repayments, and reconciliations, while ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory and internal policy guidelines. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in banking operations and a commitment to operational excellence.
Main Responsibilities
As a Servicing and Transacting Payments Senior Officer, you will be responsible for:
• Ensuring operational efficiency by accurately processing and overseeing a wide range of transactions, including direct receipt entries, capital reductions, credit card repayments, and overdrafts.
• Managing reconciliations for various accounts, such as Visa, Mobile Money, Clearing, and Agency Banking, and actively resolving any discrepancies that arise.
• Upholding compliance and risk control by ensuring all activities adhere to group and local operating instructions and money laundering regulations.
• Providing exceptional client support by investigating and resolving customer queries in a timely manner.
• Maintaining high service standards to meet and exceed quality measures for all outsourced and migrated services.
Required Qualifications and Skills
To be a successful candidate for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
• Education: A relevant university degree is required, along with a minimum of five O-level credits, including Mathematics and English. All qualifications must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
• Experience: A minimum of three years of relevant experience in lending operations.
• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in cheque clearing, electronic payment platforms (like e-wallets and mobile money), and various account reconciliations (e.g., ATM/POS, loan repayments, debit and credit cards).
• Core Competencies: A strong knowledge of banking systems and the ability to investigate and resolve open account items effectively.
