Overview
Lumwana Mining Company is seeking a highly committed and passionate Resource Specialist to join the versatile LPDC Team. This role is crucial for the efficient delivery of procurement services, focusing on the sourcing and acquisition of goods and services. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of procurement processes and a commitment to adding value and minimizing risk for the company.


Main Responsibilities
As a Resource Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
Managing Procurement Activities: Overseeing the end-to-end sourcing process, ensuring all activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical guidelines.
Supplier and Customer Engagement: Providing timely sourcing services that exceed customer expectations, while also managing day-to-day relationships with suppliers, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring on-time delivery.
Cost Optimization: Actively identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities through continuous review of procurement operations and preparing comprehensive price adjudications.
Proactive Analysis: Conducting needs analysis for all sourcing activities and working proactively to understand the technical requirements of internal customers.
Data Management and Safety: Maintaining accurate stock catalogs, communicating changes in item descriptions and specifications, and ensuring all purchases adhere to strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.


Required Qualifications and Skills
To be a successful candidate for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
Education: A Grade 12 Certificate and a Degree in Purchasing and Supply or an equivalent qualification.
Experience: Proven knowledge and understanding of both international and local procurement processes.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a must-have practical knowledge of SAP.
Certifications: Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) and/or the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).
Personal Attributes: Must hold a valid driver's license.
