Overview
WaterAid is seeking a motivated Procurement and Administration Officer to join their team in Lusaka, Zambia. This key role is responsible for overseeing all procurement activities and general office administration to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the WaterAid Zambia Country Programme. The ideal candidate will be an organized and ethical professional who is passionate about contributing to WaterAid’s mission of providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene for everyone, everywhere.


Main Responsibilities
As the Procurement and Administration Officer, you will:
• Manage end-to-end procurement processes, from strategic planning and vendor sourcing to risk management and compliance with WaterAid policies and local regulations.
• Lead administrative and logistical support for the national office, ensuring daily operations run efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain meticulous records and prepare comprehensive reports to ensure transparency and accountability in all procurement activities.
• Support capacity building by providing guidance and training to team members on procurement best practices and procedures.
• Collaborate with diverse teams to provide seamless support and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services for WaterAid's WASH interventions.


Required Qualifications and Skills
To be a successful candidate for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Operations Management, or a related field. Membership with the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply is a must.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, logistics, and administration. Prior experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and office management systems, with a strong ability to manage a full procurement cycle.
Core Competencies: Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate a high level of integrity, a strong sense of confidentiality, and a problem-solving mindset.
Personal Attributes: Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A self-directed, analytical individual who is a trusted source of advice and a collaborative team player.
