Overview
First Quantum is seeking a Mine Supervisor, Drilling to lead and oversee drilling operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and efficiency of all drilling activities and the team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong commitment to safety and an in-depth knowledge of drilling techniques and equipment.

Main Responsibilities
As a Mine Supervisor, Drilling, you will be responsible for:
• Ensuring a safe and compliant work environment by inducting new personnel, ensuring all staff have proper training and permits, and enforcing safety protocols and procedures.
• Overseeing drilling activities to ensure all procedures are followed, equipment checklists are completed, and the drill block is maintained to the required standard.
• Managing and mentoring your team, coaching operators on safe work habits, and ensuring fatigue management is adhered to.
• Conducting regular inspections to verify that safety berms, ground conditions, and drill pattern markings meet the correct standards.
• Reporting and investigating all accidents, incidents, or hazards, and implementing corrective and preventative measures in collaboration with the safety department.

Required Qualifications and Skills
To be a successful candidate for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
• Education: A minimum of a Grade 12 Certificate and a Diploma in a relevant field. A Bachelor's degree is a plus.
• Experience: 3-5 years of work experience in a mining environment, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Technical Knowledge: Proven knowledge of various drilling techniques, equipment selection, and operation monitoring.
• Behavioral Traits: Detail-oriented, a natural problem-solver, and an excellent communicator with the ability to manage conflict and make precise judgments.
• Certifications: A valid Zambian driver's license, with all relevant certificates certified by ZAQA.
