Overview
The International Water Management Institute (IWMI) is looking for a Communications Consultant to join the Accelerating Impacts of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA) team in Zambia. This is a short-term, three-month consultancy position focused on developing and delivering key communications materials for a project legacy campaign. This role is ideal for a creative professional with a passion for climate change, agriculture, and development in Africa who can produce high-quality content across various media platforms.


Main Responsibilities
As the Communications Consultant, you'll be responsible for crafting compelling narratives and managing content production. You will:
Create written content by drafting and editing high-quality blogs and a comprehensive "legacy story" highlighting the project's impact.
Manage multimedia projects, including coordinating with videographers and editors for a short film that showcases the project's success.
Develop and disseminate content by creating social media copy and visual assets, ensuring effective promotion across digital channels in collaboration with the AICCRA communications team.
Maintain quality standards by editing and proofreading various documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to branding guidelines.
Support team collaboration by actively participating in meetings and coordinating with colleagues to strengthen communication outputs.


Required Qualifications and Skills
To be a successful candidate for this role, you should be a Zambian-based professional with proven experience in communications, digital marketing, or knowledge management.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience producing communication products across different media formats for various audiences.
Expertise: A strong understanding of agriculture, food systems, and climate change in Africa.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with a talent for translating complex information into engaging, accessible content.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in creating engaging social media content using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
Project Management: Experience managing projects and working effectively in a team, including in remote settings.
