Overview
The Graduate, Fitter is responsible for performing maintenance and repair activities to ensure the maximum availability, reliability, and safety of equipment and tools. This role involves executing fitting activities with a focus on pump systems and pipe fitting, adhering to strict safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and skilled professional with experience in both fixed and mobile plant equipment.

Main Responsibilities
• Perform repair and maintenance on pump systems and pipes, ensuring all mechanical safety settings conform to safety requirements.
• Conduct and monitor ongoing independent procedural inspections of mechanical safety settings.
• Oversee mechanical repairs performed by subordinates, ensuring all work is completed safely and correctly.
• Compile detailed daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports on mechanical usage, repairs, and costs.
• Assist with preventative maintenance procedures to maintain fleet availability and minimize hazards to personnel and equipment.
• Interpret assembly drawings and provide feedback to management on job progress and identified issues.

Required Qualifications and Skills
• Education and Certification: A Grade 12 School Certificate, a relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., B.Tech or BSc), and a Craft Certificate from a recognized institution. Must be a member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) and have a Certificate of attendance in incident and accident investigation and reporting.
• Experience: A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
• Technical Skills: Sound knowledge of pump systems, equipment handling, and the ability to interpret assembly drawings. Experience with fixed and mobile plant equipment is required.
• Attributes: Strong commitment to safety, promotes teamwork, and can adjust to changing task requirements. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and possess moderate computer literacy and good verbal communication skills.
