Overview
The Taxation Manager is responsible for managing all tax-related activities for the ZESCO Group. This role involves developing strategic tax plans, ensuring full compliance with tax laws, and providing expert guidance to senior management. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled professional with a strong background in tax reporting, auditing, and a commitment to accuracy and strategic financial management.


Main Responsibilities
• Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA), the Ministry of Finance, and External Auditors on all tax-related matters.
• Prepare and submit all tax returns, including monthly VAT and Excise Duty Returns and Provisional Tax Returns.
• Manage tax audits with the ZRA, ensuring a smooth process and favorable outcomes.
• Provide strategic advice to management on the tax implications of various business activities and major projects.
• Supervise and mentor subordinate taxation staff to ensure departmental efficiency and professional growth.


Required Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience: A Grade 12 School Certificate with five 'O' level passes. Must be a Professional Chartered Accountant with a minimum of five years of experience in a reputable organization, with hands-on experience in income tax computation. A specific tax qualification is an added advantage.
Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of Zambian tax laws and regulations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong commitment to accuracy and detail.
Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
