Overview
The Business Applications Support Senior Specialist is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the Bank’s financial applications. This role focuses on delivering reliable, secure, and efficient systems that enhance customer experience across the institution. The position combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, overseeing application support, monitoring, and optimization while ensuring compliance, risk management, and successful delivery of strategic IT initiatives.


Main Responsibilities
• Manage availability, configuration, and performance of financial applications including Treasury (Calypso), Funds Transfer (SWIFT/SIRESS), Payments (RTGS, Payflexi/SFI), Compliance (Sanctions Screening), Cheque Truncation (Sybrin), Clearing (Montran/ACH), and related platforms.
• Oversee system fixes, upgrades, patches, and disaster recovery processes while ensuring business continuity.
• Provide second- and third-line technical support, resolving escalated incidents, conducting root cause analysis, and ensuring adherence to SLAs.
• Engage with internal stakeholders, end-users, and external partners to improve system reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• Implement and monitor audit recommendations, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Lead and coach a team of specialists, setting performance targets, conducting reviews, and developing technical competencies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, conduct user training, and ensure effective reporting of risk events and performance indicators.
• Support strategic IT projects, product development, and cross-functional initiatives aligned with the Bank’s objectives.


Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or Computer Science.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in IT project management, financial applications support, or related fields with expertise in XML, Web Services, CSS, JavaScript, MS SQL, MySQL, and PL/SQL.
Certifications: ITIL and COBIT 5 (mandatory).
Core Competencies: Strong leadership and stakeholder management, attention to detail, risk management, problem-solving, and the ability to drive service excellence.
Attributes: Self-motivated, results-driven, strong communicator, with networking and vendor management skills.
External Engagement: Regular interaction with vendors, consultants, and regulatory bodies such as the Central Bank (BOZ) and ZECHL.
