Overview
We are seeking a Site Material Controller (12-month fixed-term contract) to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG). This role is central to ensuring the seamless flow of materials for large-scale engineering and construction projects. The position oversees material control, warehousing, and inventory management, ensuring that all activities are fully aligned with engineering, procurement, and construction schedules. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accuracy, traceability, and efficiency in material handling to support world-class project delivery.
Main Responsibilities
• Manage material control and warehousing systems to ensure accurate identification, storage, and distribution of equipment and materials.
• Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and site teams to align materials with bills of materials, purchasing systems, and construction requirements.
• Oversee inventory registers, equipment maintenance logs, and storage plans, ensuring proper use of warehouses, manpower, and equipment.
• Implement receiving, storage, control, and issuing procedures that meet certification and traceability standards.
• Monitor surplus or obsolete materials early in the project and coordinate effective disposition.
• Support Construction Work Packaging (CWP) and ensure timely material availability in line with project schedules.
• Resolve overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D) and facilitate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with logistics teams on heavy lifts, oversized shipments, and materials requiring special handling.
• Participate in construction and contractor planning meetings to anticipate material needs and changes in installation priorities.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, company procedures, and industry best practices while supervising warehouse operations.
• Report regularly on material status and availability to support site execution and project delivery.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Proven experience in materials control within EPCM environments or large-scale construction projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of materials management processes and systems.
• Solid understanding of procurement and construction workflows.
• Proficiency in e-materials management systems.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
• Preferred: Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, supply chain, or construction management.
