Overview
The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) is seeking a dynamic Chief Human Capital Officer to lead its Human Capital Division and provide strategic direction across the Group. This executive role is responsible for designing and implementing policies, systems, and practices that strengthen talent management, organizational effectiveness, and workforce development. As a member of the Management Executive Committee, the position will play a critical role in aligning human capital strategy with IDC’s corporate objectives, ensuring the attraction, retention, and development of top talent to drive long-term business growth.


Main Responsibilities
• Lead the development and execution of the Human Capital strategy, ensuring alignment with IDC’s vision, mission, and strategic plan.
• Provide executive-level advice on all HR matters to the CEO, Board, and Management Executive Team.
• Oversee workforce planning, succession planning, performance management, and talent development across the Group.
• Drive implementation of policies, frameworks, and procedures for recruitment, retention, training, and organizational design.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and alignment of subsidiary HR policies to Group standards.
• Strengthen human capital systems, including performance management, reward programs, and automation of HR processes to enhance operational efficiency.
• Promote employee engagement, leadership development, and a high-performance culture across subsidiaries.
• Mentor and coach senior leaders, while fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skills transfer.
• Enhance corporate governance through effective risk management, compliance, and transparent HR practices.
• Represent the Human Capital Division in Board-level and stakeholder meetings, ensuring effective communication of strategic HR priorities.


Required Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Strategic Management, Psychology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM).
• At least 10 years’ senior management experience in human capital leadership or a similar executive role.
• Proven track record in strategic HR management, organizational design, and change management within complex institutions.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence at executive and board levels.
• Expertise in performance management, talent development, and workforce planning.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
• High levels of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to innovation and excellence.
• Proficiency in HR systems, data management, and modern business technologies.
