Overview
Syngenta Crop Protection, a global leader in agricultural solutions, is seeking a Seedcare Key Account Manager Downstream to drive growth and innovation in Zambia. The role focuses on advancing Syngenta’s Seedcare strategy through portfolio management, market development, digital transformation, and customer engagement. This position plays a critical part in strengthening farmer adoption of seed-applied technologies, expanding market presence, and ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration.
Main Responsibilities
• Portfolio Management: Oversee the lifecycle of Seedcare solutions (seed treatments, post-harvest products, polymers, biologicals), including product introductions and development initiatives.
• Sales & Market Development: Create downstream demand, manage sales planning/forecasting, drive go-to-market strategies, and identify new business opportunities.
• Marketing & Branding: Partner with marketing teams to design and execute product campaigns, technical demonstrations, and grower awareness initiatives aligned with long-term strategic goals.
• Digital Transformation: Lead the integration of digital tools (apps, webinars, online training, and virtual platforms) into customer engagement and marketing efforts.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate across business units, external partners, and industry associations to align operations, collect market intelligence, and expand adoption of Seedcare solutions.
• Performance Tracking: Measure campaign impact, monitor KPIs, and ensure alignment with Syngenta’s HSE and compliance standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Education & Memberships:
o Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, or Agricultural Economics (Master’s degree with business/agriculture focus is an advantage).
o ZAQA-certified qualifications and membership with the Agricultural Institute of Zambia.
• Experience:
o Minimum 5 years in agricultural sales, marketing, or business development.
o Strong knowledge of the seed industry, crop protection markets, and on-farm practices.
o Proven record in product lifecycle management, commercial strategy, and digital marketing.
• Core Competencies:
o Project management and cross-functional collaboration.
o Strong agronomic expertise with commercial and marketing acumen.
o Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
o Proficiency in MS Office and business reporting tools (e.g., SFDC).
o Ability to lead change, foster innovation, and adapt to multicultural environments.
