Overview
The World Food Programme (WFP) Zambia Country Office is seeking a strategic and technically skilled professional to lead the integration of social protection, disaster risk management (DRM), and school feeding initiatives across its programmatic portfolio. This role supports WFP’s shift toward upstream technical assistance, aligning with national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The incumbent will drive innovation, policy coherence, and system strengthening to build resilient, inclusive, and shock-responsive communities across Zambia.

Main Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership in embedding social protection, DRM, and school feeding across WFP Zambia’s operations.
• Advise senior management on aligning humanitarian mechanisms with national systems, including shock-responsive social protection (SRSP).
• Strengthen digital infrastructure such as social registries and MIS, and promote data harmonization across stakeholders.
• Facilitate capacity-building initiatives, peer learning, and South-South cooperation to enhance national and subnational capabilities.
• Design productive social protection pathways that integrate nutrition, livelihoods, and market access for vulnerable populations.
• Lead monitoring and evaluation efforts to track resilience and graduation outcomes.
• Build strategic partnerships and contribute to resource mobilization through donor engagement, joint proposals, and policy dialogues.

Required Qualifications and Skills
• Advanced degree in Social Policy, Public Administration, Economics, International Development, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in social protection system design, government advisory, digital systems (registries/MIS), and/or SRSP.
• Demonstrated success in implementing integrated, multi-sectoral development or humanitarian programs.
• Strong capabilities in strategic planning, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and digital literacy.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Preferred: Familiarity with adaptive SP models, productive social protection frameworks, and national registry architecture.
