Overview
Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (LWSC) is seeking a qualified Engineer (G5) – Non-Revenue Water to support the delivery of efficient and climate-resilient water supply services. Reporting to the Senior Engineer – Non-Revenue Water, the role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing water demand management initiatives that improve network efficiency, reduce losses, and optimize service delivery.
Main Responsibilities
• Plan, supervise, and monitor installation and maintenance of bulk water meters in line with company policy.
• Conduct engineering diagnostics and network analysis to identify pressure losses, flow characteristics, and operational risks.
• Support the reading and analysis of bulk meters, compile district consumption data, and prepare monthly non-revenue water (NRW) reports.
• Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams to enhance system efficiency.
• Investigate customer complaints and leakages, ensuring timely resolution.
• Assist in cost estimation for water distribution projects and related capital expenditures.
• Contribute to valve operations, system planning, and infrastructure management.
• Manage and mentor staff to ensure optimal performance and professional growth.
• Prepare and submit technical reports on network efficiency to management.
• Ensure all work complies with company standards, regulatory requirements, and statutory obligations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• School Certificate.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience.
• Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
