Overview
The Project Manager for Resilience and Recovery will provide operational leadership for the KfW-funded project in Zambia. This role involves overseeing day-to-day implementation, ensuring compliance with donor and WFP standards, and fostering strong collaboration with government, UN agencies, and other partners. The primary goal is to strengthen shock-responsive systems, enhance community resilience, and support sustainable recovery from climate and economic shocks in alignment with WFP’s Country Strategic Plan.
Main Responsibilities
• Lead the planning, implementation, and coordination of the KfW-funded TERNIZA project, ensuring its effective integration across all programmatic areas.
• Manage project risks, ensuring compliance with both KfW and WFP policies and reporting requirements.
• Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, including government ministries, UN agencies, and NGOs, and support the capacity building of local partners.
• Oversee monitoring and evaluation efforts, ensuring robust data collection, timely reporting, and the documentation of lessons learned.
• Provide technical and operational guidance on key project components such as climate-smart agriculture and market linkages.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Education: An advanced university degree in Social Policy, Public Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Experience: At least five years of experience managing large-scale resilience, recovery, or disaster risk management projects, preferably within a humanitarian or development context.
• Expertise: Proven experience in project management, donor compliance, and multi-stakeholder coordination. Must have a strong understanding of shock-responsive systems and community-based programming.
• Communication: Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Language: Fluency (Level C) in English is required.
