Overview
The Project Assistant will provide essential operational, technical, and administrative support for the Climate Change Adaptation in Forest and Agricultural Mosaic Landscapes project. This role is a key part of a multi-agency effort to strengthen the resilience of rural communities in Zambia. The incumbent will support project coordination, monitor progress and budgets, and ensure alignment with Global Environment Facility (GEF) rules.

Main Responsibilities
• Provide administrative and logistical support for project activities, including coordinating supervisory missions and maintaining project records and databases.
• Support the review of financial and progress reports to ensure they align with GEF rules.
• Track budget expenditures and promptly flag any variances.
• Assist with monitoring, evaluation, and knowledge management to ensure project goals are met.
• Facilitate collaboration and communication between all partners, including FAO, the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment, and the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF).


Required Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience: A university degree in Agriculture, Forestry, or a related field, with at least two years of relevant experience in project coordination and administrative support.
Technical Skills: Proven experience in project planning, implementation, and communications. Familiarity with the policies and procedures of FAO, the UN, and the GEF is a significant advantage.
Language and Nationality: A Zambian national with working knowledge (spoken and written) of the English language.
Core Competencies: Demonstrated ability to be results-focused, work effectively in a team, and build strong relationships while continuously improving knowledge and skills.
