Finance Officer, REACH Malaria

Overview
The Finance Officer will provide essential finance and operations support for the USG-funded Reaching every at-risk community and household with malaria services (REACH Malaria) project. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, maintaining detailed documentation, and upholding compliance with all internal and external financial policies. The ideal candidate will have strong financial management skills and a collaborative approach to supporting project goals.


Main Responsibilities
• Process financial transactions and manage accounts payable and receivable, including reviewing and processing vendor invoices and reconciling staff and program advances.
• Administer funds and maintain all financial documentation for field activities, including cash disbursements for meetings and workshops.
• Ensure all financial activities are approved by the appropriate designees and comply with applicable policies and procedures.
• Support provincial teams with procurement processes, ensuring accuracy before transactions are processed.
• Assist with project closeout activities and maintain updated inventory records.


Required Qualifications and Skills
Education and Certification: A bachelor's degree in accounting, ACCA II, CIMA II, ZICA II, or an equivalent qualification is required. Must be a current, registered member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
Experience: A minimum of three years of experience working for an international NGO is essential.
Technical and Soft Skills: Proven finance and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office and experience with financial systems like Business World is a plus. Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills are required. Must have a legal right to work in Zambia.
