Consultant
Overview
The Consultant/Independent Contractor shall perform the work described hereunder from a place of business located at Jhpiego/Zambia or at a place to be designated by Jhpiego. Upon reasonable notice, Consultant/Independent Contractor shall meet with representatives of Jhpiego, either at Jhpiego or another designated location.
Responsibilities
Scope of Work and expected activities.
JHPIEGO desires to obtain the services of a Consultant/Independent Contractor as more particularly described herein (hereinafter referred to as the Services).
Interpretation in English and Portuguese languages for approximately 1 (one) guest in Portuguese and 49 (forty-nine) guests in English, and provision of one Interpretation booth plus 50 Microphones and supporting device for the participants during the meeting.
Test all equipment and set up necessary connections for easy flow of meetings at the conferencing venue in Lusaka by 8th September 2025.
Duration of Consultancy.
Interpret in English and Portuguese languages from the 9th to 10th of September 2025 for approx. 1 and a half days.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of a University degree in Languages, Humanities, or a related discipline and a professional qualification from a recognized interpreter/translator school. A master’s degree in education is an added advantage
• At least 8 years of progressively relevant experience in interpretation and translation in Portuguese.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills
• Interpreters and translators must be able to read, speak clearly, and write effectively in both English and Portuguese.
