Overview
The M&E Lead will provide strategic technical and operational leadership for the GAVI-funded Malaria Vaccine Project (Malvac) in Zambia. This senior-level role is responsible for overseeing all monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure effective implementation of the malaria vaccine. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with a strong background in public health and data analysis, capable of establishing robust M&E systems and translating data into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Health and other partners to develop and implement key performance indicators for the malaria vaccine.
• Establish baselines, implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data quality, and develop program monitoring dashboards.
• Oversee the collection and evaluation of data, acting as a liaison for M&E staff and implementing partners.
• Contribute to grant monitoring and evaluation, co-designing M&E plans, and conducting data analysis.
• Support the development and execution of data analysis plans and modeling efforts to track progress.


Required Qualifications and Skills
Education: A Master's degree in Health Informatics, Public Policy, Public Health, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of four years of experience in M&E for the health sector, with at least two years in a leadership role managing direct reports. A minimum of four years of experience working in public health in low- and middle-income countries.
Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability to conduct advanced data analysis and translate findings into compelling visual and written materials. Experience incorporating gender equality into M&E is preferred.
Soft Skills: Excellent oral and written English communication skills. Must be a humble, self-driven, and collaborative individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
