Job Description
1. JOB PURPOSE
To enhance employee performance by effectively coordinating performance management processes, promoting continuous professional development, and ensuring the workforce is equipped with the necessary skills to support the attainment of ZCCM-IH’s strategic objectives, both now and in the future
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performance Management
• Implement and oversee the performance management system in alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals and Balanced Scorecard methodology.
• Collaborate with line managers to define performance expectations, establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and conduct performance evaluations.
• Review performance contracts, appraisal reports, and supporting evidence to ensure alignment with best practices and organisational standards.
Training Needs Analysis
• Conduct periodic training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development opportunities across the workforce.
• Engage with departmental heads to understand functional training requirements and future capability needs.
• Identify and liaise with suitable training providers to address identified training demands.
Training Program Development
• Design and implement comprehensive training and development programs that address identified needs and support business objectives.
• Employ diverse training methodologies, including workshops, e-learning, mentoring, and on-the-job training, to enhance learning effectiveness and engagement.
Budgeting and Career Development
• Prepare, implement, and monitor the training and development budget in line with the approved strategy, ensuring cost-effective deployment of resources.
• Support employees in identifying career goals and development pathways.
• Provide guidance on internal career progression and relevant developmental opportunities.
Training Delivery
• Serve as a Trainer of Trainers (ToT) to deliver sessions on technical, safety, leadership, and other relevant topics.
• Facilitate training workshops, seminars, and learning events to build employee capabilities.
• Coordinate and manage the onboarding and induction process for all new employees.
• Promote and drive utilisation of the eLearning platform to support continuous learning.
• Evaluate the return on investment (ROI) for training interventions and compile related impact data.
Employee Feedback and Recognition
• Establish systems to facilitate ongoing feedback on employee performance and development.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of employee recognition initiatives, informed by performance management outcomes.
Performance Metrics and Reporting
• Develop and monitor performance indicators to evaluate employee growth and training effectiveness.
• Generate regular performance and development reports for senior management review and decision-making.
Talent Management and Succession Planning
• Partner with management to develop high-potential employees with the right internventions.
• Administer the secondment program, including placement coordination and monitoring of secondees’ progress.
Compliance and Documentation
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and statutory requirements related to performance management and training.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee training activities and performance management documentation.
Job Requirements
3. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Grade Twelve or Equivalent with Credits or Better in Five Subjects, Mathematics and English Included.
Degree or equivalent Professional qualification in a related field
Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resources.
Certification in HR or Training and Development is added advantage
4. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Not less than 4 Years Work experience in a busy and complex work environment experience in a similar Position
