Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit highly committed and passionate employees for the position of Senior Human Resources Officer to join the versatile Human Resources team. Team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Human Resources Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing support in all human resources functions.

Your duties will include but not limited to the following:

• Recruitment processes through the HRIS Platform and all related activities such as Job advertisements, Interviewing, Selection, Reference Checking and Employment Contracts.
• Preparing and conducting inductions for new employees, onboarding processes and exit interviews.
• Providing support and assistance to Supervisors/Managers in Disciplinary matters, Grievance handling, dispute resolution and performance management.
• Management of all Workers Compensation claims and monitoring of legal compliance thereof.
• Providing training and guidance to managers on the Talent Management processes.
• Ensure that policies, procedures and practices are compliant with relevant legislations.
• Work with and/or offer support to all HR initiatives and projects such as Access and Time Management Systems that interface with Payroll and also used for attendance monitoring.

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements.

• Degree in a Human Resource Management or equivalent.
• Minimum of (4) years’ experience as a Senior HR Officer or similar role preferably in the Mining Industry.
• Sound knowledge of contemporary HR practice and compliance.
• Must have good understanding and able to interpret the Zambian Labour Laws
• Must be a certified member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
• Strong background in Human Resource Management, general business acumen and the capacity to act as an internal consultant.

About the Team

The Lumwana copper mine is a conventional open pit (truck and shovel) operation. It’s located about 100 kilometers west of Solwezi in Zambia’s Copperbelt — one of the most prospective copper regions in the world. Lumwana ore, which is predominantly sulfide, is treated through a conventional sulfide flotation plant, producing copper concentrate.
