Job description:
Overall Role Purpose
The holder of this position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;
• Carry out planned maintenance jobs as per OEM Standards and work order completion.
• Keep equipment available preventive maintenance such as, Pulleys, Gearboxes. Pinion shafts and Bearing replacement on Motors and Ropes replacements.
• Understanding Proof Load Testing & load test preparations.
• Maintain excellent customer relations through frequent communication.
• Prepare accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner.
• Comply with safe working standard, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times.
• Carry out troubleshooting on breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance.
• Repair and service all overhead cranes and hoists, within the established standards.
• To perform any other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience
• A minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a qualified Artisan Fitter on Overhead Cranes.
• Good understanding of couplings – Motor and Magnetic
• Experience in adjusting brakes – Magnetic, Conical and Binsi
• Understanding Crane Wheel Installation
• Full Grade 12 Certificate with 5 O’levels
• Craft Certificate from recognised institution
• A member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
• Valid Driver’s licence
• All certificates must be certified by ZAQA
