Richmond Farms Limited is a private entity that has ventured into supply of bulk oil and dry goods to the local market with future expansion projections into international markets. We are seeking to attract and recruit a talented pool of individuals that will fit into our organization. We are looking for a pool of talented individuals that are self-starters’ and experienced to oversee business operations for fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) in various parts of the Country.
Farm Supervisor – 1 Position
Job Purpose
The Farm Supervisor will oversee all daily operations of the farm, align with activities with production targets and ensure adherence to quality standards. The main roles will be to plan, address operational issues, supervise, coordinate tasks and maintain efficient production processes. This position reports to the Partnership Officer.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily farm operations and coordinate the work of staff to ensure efficient processes and achievement of production goals.
- Schedule and coordinate tasks for the farm team on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to optimize workflow.
- Conduct regular inspections of raw stock, crops to assess health and growth, reporting any concerns to the Farm Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, crop yields, and labor hours, and assist in overall farm production documentation.
- Train and mentor farm workers, facilitating their orientation and ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and protocols among all farm personnel.
- Implement and monitor biosecurity measures to safeguard against crop diseases and pests, promoting a secure farming environment.
- Assist in planning and executing seasonal activities such as planting and harvesting, and manage irrigation and soil fertility to enhance crop yields.
- Support the farm in maintaining farm equipment, coordinating repairs, and identifying any maintenance issues.
- Ensure all farm operations are conducted in a tidy and organized manner.
Qualifications and Skills
• Full Grade 12 Certificate.
• Minimum Diploma in Agriculture.
• Two (2) years of relevant farm work experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Technical knowledge in all areas of production-management.
• Understanding of farming, food production, customer demand, food standards, and sustainability.
• High people management skills.
