Company Overview
The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) is a statutory body established under the Energy Regulation Act No. 12 of 2019 to regulate the energy sector in Zambia. ERB’s mandate includes licensing undertakings, promoting efficient practices, ensuring quality service delivery at equitable prices, and enabling a reasonable rate of return for energy utilities.
Job Purpose
To support the Senior Manager Internal Audit in evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of ERB’s governance, control, and risk management processes to promote institutional effectiveness and the achievement of strategic goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Formulate and implement internal audit policies and procedures in line with professional auditing standards.
• Prepare strategic and risk-based annual audit plans aligned to ERB's strategic objectives.
• Develop audit engagement plans detailing scope, objectives, and methodologies.
• Execute internal audit assignments to assess adequacy of controls and risk mitigation measures.
• Prepare timely and accurate internal audit reports with clear findings and practical recommendations.
• Monitor and report on the implementation status of internal and external audit recommendations.
• Prepare individual work plans to support performance tracking and appraisal.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy OR Full ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent.
• Must be a paid-up member of ZICA (Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in internal auditing or accounting roles.

• High integrity and professionalism, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Demonstrated adherence to corporate governance principles.
• Proficiency in audit management systems and data analysis tools.
• Ability to work independently and produce results with minimal supervision.
