Overall purpose of the Job
To monitor and ensure Compliance with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) ACT No. 17 of
2010 requirements, the Institution’s code of Ethics for Engineering professionals, Engineering
organisations and any other regulations and /or codes of practice that may be prescribed by Council from time to time.
Key responsibilities and duties
- Carries out regular inspections to monitor and ensure compliance to the EIZ Act No 17 of 2010;
- Carries out inspections to monitor and promote compliance with the provisions of the EIZ Code of Ethics for Engineering professionals;
- Facilitates investigations and /or monitoring of national emergencies, disasters or any other relevant matter of public concern as directed by Council and submits reports as required;
- Prepares and furnishes reports relating to compliance with the EIZ Act No 17 of 2010 and any other related legislation;
- Assist in the generation, reconciliation and delivering of institutional invoices in line with corporate ethos;
- Responsible for the delivery of practicing licenses and Membership cards
- Prepare Annual Activity Plans & Budgets for the Inspectorate activities Department
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Key requirements
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 Credits or better
- BEng/BSc/Dip/Advanced Certificate/Crafts qualification in any Engineering field.
- Fully paid-up Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia with 2024 valid practicing licence.
- Industrial experience of at least three (3) years
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint) and data management software packages.
- Must possess a clean and valid driver’s license.
