Accountant

Our client is looking for an Accountant to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, tax compliance, and cash flow management. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with financial regulations and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Analyze financial statements to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets.
• Perform variance analysis between actuals and budgets, providing explanations for discrepancies.
• Work with departmental heads to forecast future financial performance.
• Implement cost-saving measures and identify areas for financial efficiency.
• Prepare and analyze cost reports, ensuring expenses align with financial plans.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax returns, including corporate tax, VAT, and payroll tax.
• Stay updated on tax laws and assist with tax planning strategies.
• Monitor daily cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
• Assist in preparing cash flow forecasts for decision-making.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is available.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Maintain and improve financial systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with departments to align financial practices with business objectives.
• Support financial planning for strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions.
• Conduct financial analysis for investment opportunities and capital projects.

Key Skills

• Strong financial analysis and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
• Deep understanding of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial insights to stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience handling multi-currency transactions or international financial practices is an advantage.
• Knowledge of industry-specific financial practices (e.g., manufacturing, retail) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
