Description
Our client an independent media organisation whose aim is to deliver content geared towards enabling all members of the family become mature Christians is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
• Prepare and process journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage and reconcile bank accounts and debit card statements.
• Monitor and manage cash flow.

Tax Compliance:
• Prepare and file all statutory returns, including VAT, PAYE, and other relevant taxes, in compliance with Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) regulations.
• Stay updated on changes in Zambian tax laws and regulations.
• Assist with tax audits and provide necessary documentation.

Accounts Payable/Receivable:
• Process invoices and payments to suppliers.
• Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of payments.
• Reconcile supplier and customer statements.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.

Internal Controls:
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Reporting and Analysis:
• Prepare and analyse financial reports for management.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
• Fulfil other duties, as common to all employees and as directed, within parameters outlined in both the mission and vision statements. This includes:

• Adhere to all regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements
• Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Should have an ACCA, CIMA or ZICA qualification.
• Should have valid membership with ZICA.
• Should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience in Zambia.
• Should have solid knowledge of Zambian tax laws and regulations.
• Should be proficient in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
• Should have a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Should be comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment.
